Looking for a safe trick or treating option for kids? Check out Halloween Safe Street, in the 1000 block of Old South Gaylord Street, on Monday, October 31 from 4 – 7 pm. Join the merchants of Old South Gaylord for Halloween Safe Street Festival, as they pass out trick or treat goodies to kids and host a costume contest and monster dancing. There is plenty of good food and shopping on Old South Gaylord for grown-ups too. And new this year, area food trucks and food vendors will be selling tasty treats and dinner on the go. There will also be a contest for the Prettiest, Scariest, Most Usual and Best Group costumes. Merchants will submit their top costume nominees to the judges and prizes will be given out at the dancing area at 6:30 pm. Halloween Safe Street is the perfect alternative to trick-or-treating that is safe and fun for all children. The 1000 block of South Gaylord Street (between Mississippi and Tennessee) will be closed from 3 pm – 7 pm for safe passage for trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treating, costume contest and monster dancing continues to be FREE and open to children of all ages thanks to the Merchants of Old South Gaylord. CALLING ALL DOGS + PET OWNERS…. Denver's First Annual South Gaylord Street Pets on Parade and Costume Contest! For the first year, ghoulish pups and decked out mutts will strut their stuff at the Gaylord Street Pets on Parade to be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 3 pm to 4 pm. The event, produced by Lil' Angel Pet Boutique & Gallery, an upscale pet boutique located on Old South Gaylord Street, in partnership with Natura Pet Food, Total Performance Pet Food, Dogswell Dog Treats and Precise Pet Food is going to be a howling good time with the proceeds going to the prevention of homeless animals of the Humane Society of the Grand Bahamas. Parade check-in is from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Lil' Angel Pet Boutique & Gallery located at 1014 South Gaylord Street –just 5 blocks east of Washington Park - The parade officially starts at 3:00 pm and ends at the tent in front of Lil' Angel Pet Boutique & Gallery for judging to occur at 3:30 pm. Once all participants have arrived in the tent, one finalists will be chosen in each category by a panel of judges for Most Original, Most Outrageous, Best Dressed, Scariest and Funniest Group. There will also be a silent auction to benefit the Humane Society of the Grand Bahamas. Are you ready for your close-up? Keep an eye out and make sure you're smiling… Participants for the pet parade are encouraged to pre-register by calling 303-777-0224 or purchase tickets directly at Lil' Angel Pet Boutique & Gallery. The donations for registration are $15 per pet, and only registered pets and their owners will be eligible for contests, prizes and give-aways.
